* POPLINE RSS feeds are updated weekly. |
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content. Instead of the user browsing websites for information of interest, the information is sent directly to the user. Users can have regularly updated content from web sites delivered to them via an RSS reader, a piece of software specifically tailored to receive RSS feeds. There are several free RSS readers available on the web. These readers are either browser based or desktop client software. The browser based software like Google, Yahoo, and Bloglines are probably the simplest to set-up and offer features like alerts sent to a cell phone. The desktop software readers like RSSReader and BlogExpress require download and installation. They can be left running in the system tray and will alert you when new content has been added to a feed. |
