(No. 38) Abstract: Published annually since 1916, the bilingual statistical yearbook of Thailand presents basic statistics on population, agriculture, economic, and social characteristics. Statistics were collected from various statistical publications published by the National Statistical Office, government agencies, and state enterprises, and compiled from registration records and unpublished documents. While most tables have been updated or revised, and some have been added, tables are the same as those in the previous yearbook. Statistics are presented under the following headings: area and climate, population, public health and vital statistics, immigration and tourism, education, public justice; agriculture, fisheries, and forestry; mining, transport and communication, foreign trade, currency and banking, prices, public finance, national income, labor force, and miscellaneous. This latter section contains data on electricity, industrial products, civilian employment and permanent employees by ministry, government pensions and military compensation, state enterprise employees by ministry, and number and capacity of cinemas.
